A B O U T
Born in Mallorca, she studied violin with Ramón Andreu and Barry Sargent, besides attending David Peralta’s summer course in 2007. She continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Cologne, Germany) with a Bachelor on the modern violin under Ariadne Daskalakis's tutelage while receiving baroque violin lessons from Richard Gwilt. She graduated with a “Cum Laude'' from the Master’s Instrument in Historic Perspective at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (Netherlands), where she studied baroque violin with Antoinette Lohmann and modern violin with Johannes Leertouwer. She's had the privilage as well to receive lessons from Shunske Sato.
She has performed in Germany with the Kölner Kammerorchester, Neuen Rheinischen Kammerorchester Köln, Kölner Akademie, Orchester Düsseldorfer Altstadtherbst and for the contemporary composers collective Zeitklang, besides gaining seven years of experience as a teacher in music schools. She’s been a member of the EOS Kammerorchester; specialized in contemporary music, they work with known Jazz musicians, such as Niels Klein, Ingrid Laubrock and Lucia Cadotsch, recording new CD’s with music written exclusively for the ensemble. She currently collaborates with Concerto Köln performing not only baroque but also late romantic repertoire on period instruments.
In the Netherlands she’s a member of the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht with whom she has the honor to lead the second orchestra in the Matthew Passion. She’s a member of the Spanish baroque music group La Pícara and co-founder of PuraCorda, a string quartet specialized in 19th and 20th century music on historical instruments. She has played regularly with the Nederlandse BachVereniging and has been part of the Young Bach Fellowship with whom she recorded a CD with AVROTROS. She has had the pleasure of working as concertmaster under the baton of Jos Van Veldhoven and Peter Van Heyghen, and the privilege of performing Verklärte Nacht (Schönberg) on gut strings with the Narratio Quartet for the opening concert of the 10th European Early Music Academy in Vannes (France). She has also participated in the children's theater production "4 Jaargetijden met Angela Schijf", with the actress.
In Poland she works with the Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra. In Spain she has played with Orquestra de Cambra Illa de Menorca, has been invited as a coach to the Joven Orquesta Barroca de Andalucía, and has co-founded Trio Aquarel·la and Ensemble Tramfuntana of which she's also concertmaster. She has co-founded and organizes the concert series Nits Clàssiques de la Tramuntana and the yearly youth competition Concurs de Joves Ensemble Tramuntana, both in Mallorca.
Although a violinist at heart, she recently had her debut on the viola with the Beethoven Septet and a Mozart Clarinet Quartet, for which she was highly praised.
